what to expect in an online art therapy session?

An online art therapy session lasts 60 minutes and may follow certain routines:

Beginning of the session- Take your time to share what has been on your mind. However, it is not necessary if you can’t think of things to share or don’t want to.

Creating time- Using provided art materials to create an artwork about your feelings and thoughts. In some sessions, art therapist may give you specific directives to follow in order to help you to connect with the issues you want to work on.

Processing- Talk about your feelings and experience of making art. Questions such as: Do you like art materials? What do you see in your artwork?
